Os Nepal, Bhaktapur, March 22: The political leaders in the district have expressed commitment to the conservation of historical ponds.
At a mass meeting organized by the Kamal Pokhari Conservation Committee at Bode on Saturday, the leaders univocally said the supports from all sectors were needed to return the ponds of the district to their pristine state.
Chairman of Nepal Workers and Peasant Party and Constituent Assembly member Narayanman Bijukchhe, central member of the Nepali Congress, Dr Man Mohan Bhattarai, NC’s CA member Ramesh Dhungel, NWPP’s CA member Prem Suwal, CPN-UML’s Chairman in the district, Rajendra Rajthala, and Krishna Lal Goja Shrestha of the UCPN (Maoist) expressed commitment that they would too contribute to the conservation of the historic ponds in the district.
On the occasion, executive officer at Madhyapur Thimi municipality, Anjan Neupane, said the municipality office would help protect public land.
The locals and the political leaders became united after learning that seven persons made illegal transaction of historical pond- Kamalpokhari-covering nine anas of land at Bode. (Photo Available) RSS
