काठमाडौं, वैशाख १७ – वैदेशिक रोजगारीको नाममा युवालाई आकर्षक तलबको प्रलोभन देखाई माल्टा पठाइदिन्छु भन्दै ठगी गर्ने एक व्यक्ति काठमाडौंबाट पक्राउ परेका छन्।
काठमाण्डौं उपत्यका अपराध अनुसन्धान कार्यालय, टेकुले दिएको जानकारीअनुसार ५६ वर्षीय सुजन कुमार उप्रेतीलाई रोजगारीको नाममा चौबिस लाख रुपैयाँ ठगी गरेको अभियोगमा पक्राउ गरिएको हो। उप्रेतीले पीडितलाई लामो समयसम्म झुक्याएर विदेश नपठाई सम्पर्कविहीन भएका थिए।
पीडितले दिएको जाहेरीका आधारमा अनुसन्धान अघि बढाइएको थियो। अनुसन्धानपछि उप्रेतीलाई काठमाडौं महानगरपालिका–१ बाट पक्राउ गरिएको र थप अनुसन्धान तथा कारबाहीको लागि वैदेशिक रोजगार विभाग, ताहाचलमा बुझाइएको अपराध अनुसन्धान कार्यालयले जनाएको छ।
पक्राउ परेका उप्रेती काठमाडौं महानगरपालिका–२ का स्थायी बासिन्दा हुन्।

Man Arrested for Defrauding Youth with Fake Job Offer in Malta
Kathmandu, April 29 – A man who defrauded a youth by promising a high-paying job in Malta has been arrested from Kathmandu.
According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, 56-year-old Sujan Kumar Upreti was taken into custody for allegedly scamming Rs. 2.4 million from a victim by falsely assuring foreign employment opportunities. Upreti had kept the victim in the dark for an extended period and eventually cut off contact without arranging the promised job abroad.
Following a complaint filed by the victim, the investigation led to Upreti’s arrest from Ward No. 1 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. He has been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal, Kathmandu for further legal action.

The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has confirmed that further investigation is ongoing, under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Manohar Prasad Bhatt.
