A modern building of Deurali Basic School at Malika rural municipality-2 of Myagdi district has been constructed with financial support of Japanese Embassy. The two-storey building with eight rooms has been constructed at a cost of Rs 9.16 million, said school principal, Posta Bahadur Bishwokarma.
The old building was in dilapidated condition after it was damaged by Gorkha earthquake in 2015. It has become easier in teaching learning activities after the construction of new building, said Bishwokarma.
School Management Committee Chairperson, Umesh Pun, said that the Japanese Embassy provided financial assistance at coordination of Social Development Minister of Gandaki State.
Locals had also contributed volunteer labour worth Rs 900,000 to construct the school building. The school has 202 students.
