CMs Pokhrel and Rai extend best wishes on Buddha Jayanti

Kathmandu, May 26- Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Shankar Pokhrel, has said that it was necessary to preserve Buddhist heritages as the valuable treasurer of human being by exploring them. In a best wishes on the occasion of 2565th Buddha Jayanti today, Chief Minister Pokhrel stressed the need of developing the historical places like Tilaurakot, Ramgram, Devdaha, Gotihawa, and Sagarhawa in terms of research and tourism.

Saying activities are underway for exploration and research of Buddhist heritages, he shared that activities should be carried out in a broader manner for the tourism promotion by developing infrastructure of important heritage sites.
The Chief Minister added that no formal programmes were organized in Lumbini on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti due to risk of corona virus.

The message reads, “Born in Lumbini 2565 years ago, Siddhartha Gautama Buddha, who left home in search of a cause and solution to the causes of violence and sorrow, initiated the society with a great philosophical idea for the sake of brotherhood and human welfare and became successful to head the people towards the path of good deeds.”
“Buddhism is not only the philosophy of Buddhists. It is the valuable treasurer of all human beings”, reads the message.

Similarly, Chief Minister of province no 1, Sherdhan Rai, extended best wishes on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti and Ubhauli-2078 BS today.Saying the teachings of Gautam Buddha, the leader of World Peace, are very famous in the world, CM Rai expressed the view that brotherhood, harmony and sustainable peace would be established in the nation and the world if the teachings of Buddha could be followed.

In a message, he appealed to all to be protected from coronavirus infected and safe, saying it was not possible to celebrate different festivals in a grand manner due to increasing corona virus infection. (RSS)
