Focus on attracting youths in Sanskrit

Sanskrit language is not a mere language but a way of life. On the occasion of fourth world Sanskrit day on Sunday, most of the speakers stressed on making Sanskrit language compulsory in school curriculum to attract the new generation.

The World Sanskrit Day Observation Main Organizing Committee members argued for timely reforms in Sanskrit curriculum in the changed context. The Jaro Kilo Foundation is marking the day since 2075 BS in collaboration with different organizations.

The event on Sunday was organized in Balmeeki Vidyapeeth, Exhibition Road in the capital. Speaking on the occasion, Sampurnananda University, India’s former vice chancellor Prof Dr Rajaram Shukla argued that Nepal and India were enjoying age-old ties and language, religion and culture were further harmonizing it.

“Awareness in increasing in promotion of Sanskrit language in Nepal is good for both countries as the Sanskrit language is playing important role in it.” Shukla opined.Similarly, Nepal Sanskrit University vice chancellor Prof Dr Yadav Prakash Lamichhane said that the Sanskrit language can benefit and contribute towards the preservation of the oriental philosophy.The foundation chair Dr Nirmala Mani Adhikari committed to manage research fund for youth researchers in Sanskrit field.
