Nepal Police carries history of 1951 revolution: CM Pokhrel

Gandaki -Gandaki Province Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokhrel has said the Nepal Police has carried its history of the historic democratic movement in the country. In his address to a programme organised on the occasion of the 66th Police Day here today, the Chief Minister shared that the liberation army that had fought against the tyrannical Rana rule and for the restoration of democracy at home in 1951 was transformed into the Nepal Police following the post-revolution political changes.

The role of Nepal Police it had played for the rights of people and maintaining peace and order since its establishment was commendable and the organisation had been able to leave its mark in every sector despite having limited resources, he said. Recalling the Nepal Police’s round-the-clock service during pandemic, he wished that the Day may inspire police employees to serve the nation and the people alike in the past. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Diwesh Lohani, said the contribution of Nepal Police was enough to enhance the dignity of the country, the nation and the organisation itself. The fair implementation of law, and the maintenance of peace and order should be the priorities of the police administration.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Mohan Prasad Pokhrel, read out best wishes message to the Inspector General of Police on the occasion of Police Day. On the occasion, the Chief Minister honoured the families of martyr police employees with a letter of appreciation and monetary assistances and those employees with excellent performances in the institution.
